There are many types of conference cameras on the market, and the various parameters are dazzling. How should we choose a suitable conference camera?
When choosing a conference camera, you need to clearly understand the scenario and requirements for its use. Is it for video conferencing or local recording? The key considerations when choosing a camera are clarity, space requirements, and interface requirements. Different scenarios and requirements will require different camera performance.
● Resolution and Frame Rate
Mainstream conference camera resolutions include 1080P and 4K. The higher the resolution, the clearer the image, but compatibility with the display device should also be considered. If the display device only supports 1080P, a 1080P camera will suffice.
Mainstream conference cameras support 30 or 60 frames per second. Choosing a camera with a higher frame rate provides a smoother video experience.
● Zoom Capability
Zoom can be divided into optical zoom and digital zoom. Optical zoom achieves a clear zoom in or out by changing the relative positions of the lenses in the zoom lens.
● Angle of View
This mainly focuses on the horizontal angle parameter. There are two types of horizontal angles: one is 90° or higher, which is an ultra-wide angle. It provides a fuller view and is suitable for small meeting rooms, close distances, and panoramic shots. The downside is that it doesn't offer optical zoom.
The other camera offers a regular angle of approximately 70°, suitable for medium-sized and larger conference rooms, and supports optical zoom. However, its disadvantage is that it's not suitable for smaller conference rooms and doesn't capture the entire room.
● Motion Capture and Speaker Tracking
The camera's built-in AI technology can identify participants and automatically adjust the camera's angle of view based on their position for optimal framing. It can also track selected subjects.
● Interface Flexibility
The more camera interfaces available, the more flexible it is for connecting to various devices. Pay attention to whether the camera supports common interfaces like USB and HDMI.
